Korpisalo pagājušajā sezonā no Kolumbusas “Blue Jackets” tika aizmainīts uz Losandželosas “Kings”, bet šovasar bija brīvā aģenta statusā. “Senators” nevilcinājās un vienojās ar vārtsargu par jaunu ilgterimiņa kontraktu.
Sagaidāms, ka Korpisalo varētu dalīt spēles laiku ar Antonu Forsbergu. Pagājušajā sezonā komandas vārtus visbiežāk sargāja pieredzējušais Kems Talbo, tomēr viņam nav līguma uz nākamo sezonu. Forsbergam kontrakts ir vēl uz divām sezonām, bet Korpisalo uz piecām.
Korpisalo ilgu laiku bija “Blue Jackets” vārtsargs, tur pavadot astoņas sezonas un kādu brīdi konkurējot arī ar Merzļikinu. Pēc tam viņš “Kings” rindās 11 mačos sevi labi apliecināja, atvairot 92,1% metienu un šovasar nopelnīja jaunu ilgtermiņa līgumu ar “Senators”.
